Fendt A.1.B2 – Enhanced Control ECU (A002): A034 (or A003) - Driving switch, CAN bus; Crossgate lever
Issue description
Y-axis signal fault indicating interference, loss of signal, or out-of-range value on the Y-axis of the crossgate lever, preventing operation of hydraulic spool valves.

Check the cause
Verify the 8.5V power supply to the joystick and check the CAN bus power supply fuses on circuit board A013 (F040, F041, and F047).
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the A034 crossgate lever and the A002 Enhanced Control ECU for shorts, corrosion, or breaks.
Use the Variotronic Ti terminal (Diagnostics Menu 1) or FENDIAS to monitor the joystick's live data, checking if the IDEAL value registers Y-axis movement.
Repair steps
Resolve Wiring Issues
If a wiring fault is found between the joystick and the ECU, repair the damaged wires or replace the harness section. Clear the codes and retest.
Replace the Crossgate Lever
If the wiring and power supply are intact but the Y-axis signal remains faulty (or if the terminal shows no IDEAL value changes on the Y-axis), replace the A034 crossgate lever.
EOL Programming
Perform End of Line (EOL) programming for the newly installed crossgate lever.
Calibrate the Lever
Calibrate the new crossgate lever to the system using calibration code 1001 so the ECU learns its exact zero/rest positions.
