A.1.B4

Fendt A.1.B4 – Tractor Management System (TMS) / Enhanced Control ECU (A002): Crossgate lever plausibility error

Issue description

The zero position signals of the X- and Y-axes are not identical to the expected 'Rest position' signal, indicating that the crossgate lever's recognition of its center position is faulty.

Check the cause

  1. Verify if the crossgate lever physically returns to the center/rest position without obstruction.

  2. Check the wiring harness and CAN bus connections between the A034 driving switch/crossgate lever and the A002 Enhanced Control ECU.

  3. Check for related CAN bus faults (e.g., A.1.CC or 0.0.1F) which would indicate a complete loss of communication with the joystick.

Repair steps

  1. Access diagnostic menu

Access the tractor's terminal/dashboard diagnostic menu.

  2. Enter calibration code

Enter Calibration code '1001' (Crossgate lever calibration).

  3. Calibrate crossgate lever

Follow the on-screen prompts to teach the system the new X- and Y-axis zero/rest positions.

  4. Evaluate calibration results

If the calibration fails or the fault immediately returns, the internal potentiometers/sensors in the crossgate lever are likely worn out or defective.

  5. Replace crossgate lever

Replace the A034 crossgate lever assembly.

  6. Run EOL programming

Run the End-of-Line (EOL) programming / Calibration code 1001 again for the new lever.
