A.1.C0

Fendt A.1.C0 – A004 module: Control console — Not available or bus not connected

Issue description

Indicates a CAN bus communication failure or a complete loss of connection between the control console and the tractor's electronic network (specifically the enhanced control bus connecting to the main ECU). This results in a loss of console functions, no automatic mode, no general locking of valves, and disables the keypad, digital/analogue inputs, and LED actuation on the side console.

Check the cause

  1. Check the voltage supply for the CAN-Bus on the A013 fuse board, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041 (most common cause).

  2. Verify if there are accompanying fault codes indicating an 'Internal 8.5 Volt Failure', which points to a hardware failure inside the console.

  3. Test the CAN connection (enhanced control bus) wiring harness between the A002 (ECU enhanced control) and the A004 (Control console) for continuity, shorts, or disconnected plugs.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Power Issues

If fuses F040 or F041 are blown, replace them and re-test the console.

  2. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic tests reveal a break or short in the CAN bus wiring between the A002 and A004 modules, repair the damaged section of the harness.

  3. Replace or Rebuild the Console

If the wiring and power supply are intact, the A004 control console has likely suffered an internal RAM/EEPROM failure. Fit a new control console or send the unit to a specialized agricultural electronics repairer for board-level repair.

  4. Reprogramming

After fitting a new or repaired A004 console, perform an End-Of-Line (EOL) programming or 'Teach-in' calibration to register the module with the tractor's main ECU.
