Check the cause
Inspect the floating position button on the multifunction joystick or crossgate lever for physical damage, debris, or a sticky mechanism.
Verify the voltage supply to the CAN bus on fuse board A013, specifically checking fuses F040 and F041.
Connect the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to read the live status of the A004 control console switches and verify if the floating position key is permanently closed or unresponsive.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the A004 control console on the right mudguard for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all hydraulic implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the A004 Console
Remove the interior trim panel on the right-hand mudguard inside the cab to access the A004 Control Console and its wiring harness.
Clean or free the switch
If the diagnostic check revealed a stuck button, attempt to clean the switch mechanism on the joystick or control pad using an electronics-safe contact cleaner. Actuate the button several times to free any debris.
Component replacement
If the button is internally shorted or physically broken and cannot be freed, replace the specific keypad section or the entire A004 control console/joystick assembly.
Reassembly
Reconnect the wiring harness to the A004 console and reinstall the right mudguard trim panels.
Calibration and testing
Reconnect the battery. Turn on the ignition and use the tractor's terminal or FENDIAS to clear the stored A.1.C3 fault code. Test the floating position button to ensure the spool valves engage the floating position correctly.
