Check the cause

  1. Check the floating position button on the A004 control console for physical damage, sticking, or debris that might be jamming the button in a depressed state.

  2. Use FENDIAS or Serdia diagnostic software to monitor the live input of the A004 console to see if the button signal is permanently active or completely unresponsive.

  3. Verify the 8.5V/12V power supply and CAN bus connections to ensure the A004 console is communicating properly.

  4. Check fuses F040 and F041 on the A013 fuse board, which supply voltage for the CAN bus to this module.

Repair steps

  1. Clean the console

If the button is mechanically sticking due to dirt or spilled liquids, carefully clean the perimeter of the button with a plastic safe contact cleaner to see if it releases.

  2. Remove the console

If the button is internally defective (e.g., a failed membrane switch), power down the tractor and remove the A004 control console from the right-hand armrest/dashboard assembly.

  3. Repair or replace component

The A004 console is an expensive component. Specialized agricultural electronics repair centers (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics or Breizelec) offer board-level repairs and membrane keypad replacements for this specific fault. Alternatively, an OEM button repair kit can be installed if the fault is isolated to the keypad. If the board is beyond repair, install a new or remanufactured A004 control console.

  4. Reassemble and calibrate

Reconnect the CAN bus and power harnesses. If a brand-new A004 ECU is installed, it may require EOL (End of Line) programming or calibration via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to pair it with the tractor's basic control unit.
