A.1.C4

Fendt A.1.C4 – A004 Control Console: Control console — Time function key faulty

Issue description

The system has detected that the timer function membrane button's circuit on the side console is either stuck closed (shorted/held down), open, or has an internal RAM/EEPROM communication error, which disables the timer function for the spool valves.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the Time/Timer function button on the A004 control console for physical damage, tears in the membrane, or dirt/debris wedged around the button that might hold it in a pressed state.

  2. Cycle the tractor's ignition (Key reset/restart) to see if the code clears. If the code returns immediately, the internal membrane switch is definitively faulty.

  3. Briefly inspect the main CAN-bus and power harness connections at the bottom of the A004 console for loose pins or corrosion.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts or CAN-bus spikes.

  2. Access the Console

Remove the trim panels on the right-hand mudguard/armrest to expose the mounting hardware for the A004 Control Console.

  3. Disconnect Harnesses

Carefully unplug the multi-pin electrical connectors from the bottom/rear of the A004 unit.

  4. Remove the Unit

Remove the retaining screws or bolts holding the console in place and lift the unit out of the armrest.

  5. Repair or Replace

Send the A004 console to a specialized agricultural electronics repair center to replace the defective membrane keypad board, or install a brand-new A004 Control Console.

  6. Reinstallation

Seat the new/repaired console, secure the mounting screws, and plug in the electrical harnesses. Reinstall the armrest trim.

  7. Calibration / EOL Programming

Reconnect the battery. If a brand-new console was installed, use FENDIAS diagnostic software to perform EOL (End of Line) programming and calibrate the console, joystick, and auxiliary control valves to the tractor's specific configuration.
