Fendt A.1.C6 - A.1.CA – A004 module: A004 Control console CAN-bus fault
Issue description
Malfunctions which cannot be further specified. Indicates that the tractor's CAN bus network has lost communication with the control console, or the console is sending invalid data/status changes that the system cannot recognize. Functions tied to the console may be locked or ignored.

Check the cause
Check Power Supply: Check the printed circuit board / fuse board A013, specifically inspecting fuses F040 and F041 for a loss of voltage supply to the CAN bus.
Inspect CAN Connections: Check for line discontinuity or a faulty CAN connection between the A004 Control console and the A002 module (ECU, enhanced control).
Check for Shared Bus Failures: Determine if other modules (like the A008 Vario Terminal or A009 Transmission control unit) are also dropping offline, which would point to a broader CAN bus wiring issue rather than an isolated A004 failure.
Repair steps
Fuse Replacement
Locate fuse board A013. If fuses F040 or F041 are blown, replace them and test the system to see if communication is restored.
Wiring Harness Repair
Access the A004 Control console by removing the panel on the right mudguard inside the cab. Disconnect the electrical couplers and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage. Repair any broken wires in the CAN bus harness leading to the console.
Module Replacement/Repair
If the wiring and power supply are intact but the fault persists, the internal ECU of the A004 Control console has failed. The console must be removed and either sent to a specialized electronics repair facility or replaced entirely.
Reprogramming
If a new or refurbished A004 console is installed, you must run a new EOL (End of Line) programming procedure using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool to configure the module to the tractor's specific chassis and valve setup.
Parts you might need
(1)A004 Control Console / Operating Console
Genuine Fendt OEM part. Mounts in the cab on the right-hand mudguard. Exact button configuration varies heavily depending on the tractor's options and chassis number; must be ordered directly through an AGCO/Fendt dealer using the specific tractor's chassis number.
