A.1.D3

Fendt A.1.D3 – Joystick (A034 - Driving switch) / Multifunction Armrest (MFA - A100): Signal disturbance or key fault in the joystick button for spool valve 4

Issue description

The system detects that the green 'Raise/Lower/Floating position' button on the multifunction joystick is faulty, stuck, or sending an implausible signal. As a safety consequence, the tractor's ECU locks out the valve, resulting in 'No valve operation available' for spool valve 4.

Check the cause

  1. Perform a key reset by turning the tractor off, waiting a few moments, and restarting the engine to clear potential temporary CAN bus glitches.

  2. Inspect the A034 joystick, specifically the green raise/lower button for spool valve 4, for physical damage, sticking, or debris causing a continuous press.

  3. Check the wiring harness and CAN bus connections between the joystick (A034) / multifunction armrest (A100) and the ECU for breaks or shorts.

  4. Verify the power supply for the CAN bus in the circuit board by checking relevant fuses (e.g., F040, F041, or F047 depending on the model).

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's electrical supply/battery before beginning any intervention on the armrest.

  2. Clean the Assembly

If the fault is a simple stuck button, use electrical contact cleaner to free the button housing on the joystick.

  3. Remove the Joystick

If the button or internal circuitry is defective, remove the defective A034 joystick/control lever from the armrest console.

  4. Disconnect Harness

Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors according to the tractor's specific wiring diagram.

  5. Replace or Rebuild

Install the replacement joystick or rebuild the microswitches inside the A034 joystick using a button repair kit.

  6. Reinstall

Reconnect the electrical harness and securely mount the joystick back onto the armrest.

  7. Reprogramming

Reconnect the battery and turn the key on. Depending on the tractor's generation, you may need to run a new EOL (End of Line) programming or calibration using the FENDIAS diagnostic tool so the ECU recognizes the new joystick parameters.
