Check the cause
Verify the voltage supply to the CAN-Bus on the A013 fuse board, specifically checking fuses F040 and F041
Check the main separation point/connector X031 on the A002 ECU for loose pins, moisture, or corrosion
Test the wiring harness for continuity and shorts between the A002 ECU, the A004 Control Console, and the A008 Variotronic Terminal
Repair steps
Access the ECU
Inside the tractor cab, remove the trim panel on the right-hand mudguard to expose the A002 Enhanced Control ECU.
Verify Power and Ground
Using a multimeter, ensure the A002 ECU is receiving proper voltage from the A013 fuse board. Replace any blown fuses and trace for shorts if a fuse immediately pops.
Repair Wiring
If continuity tests reveal a break in the CAN bus lines between the A002 ECU and the A008 terminal, repair the wiring harness at the affected separation point.
Software/Reprogramming
If the wiring and power supply are intact, the fault may be an internal software or memory error within the ECU. The A002 ECU may require End-of-Line (EOL) reprogramming or a flash update via the FENDIAS diagnostic tool.
Component Replacement
If reprogramming fails or the ECU has suffered a hard internal electrical failure, the A002 ECU must be replaced and subsequently programmed to the tractor.
Parts you might need
(2)A002 ECU, Enhanced Control (Comfort ECU)
OEM part numbers are highly specific to the tractor's chassis number and generation. A VIN-specific lookup in the AGCO/Fendt parts catalog is required.
Fuses
Standard automotive fuses for the A013 fuse board (F040, F041).
