Fendt B.1.23 – A002 and A004: CAN Bus - Communication fault between A004 - Control console and Teach-in (program run)

Issue description

Communications error between the control console and the Variotronic Ti system. The "Teach-in" function (Variotronic Ti) will not operate.

Verify the voltage supply for the CAN Bus on printed circuit board A013 (specifically check fuses F040 and F041).
Check the CAN Bus wiring harness and connectors between the A002 ECU (enhanced control) and the A004 Control console.
Check if other CAN Bus faults are present (such as B.1.24 or B.1.42), which could indicate a broader CAN network failure.

Power Down
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the battery before servicing electrical components.
Fuse Replacement
If fuses F040 or F041 on circuit board A013 are blown, replace them and retest the system.
Harness Repair
If diagnostic checks reveal damaged wiring or corroded pins at the connectors for A002 or A004, repair the wiring harness or replace the damaged connector pins.
Module Replacement/Repair
If the wiring and power supply are intact, the fault lies internally within the A004 Control console or the A002 ECU. Remove the right mudguard panel in the cab to access these modules. Replace or send the A004 Control console out for specialized circuit board repair.
EOL Programming
If the A002 ECU or A004 Control console is replaced, End of Line (EOL) programming and software flashing (Variotronic) using FENDIAS diagnostic software will be required to marry the new module to the tractor's network.
