B.1.41

Fendt B.1.41 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: "Internal communication Teach-in" error counter overflow

Issue description

This fault code indicates a CAN bus communication error or data transfer fault related to the Variotronic TI (Teach-in) automatic operation system. The error counter for internal communication has exceeded its limit, resulting in the Teach-in function being disabled (Variotronic TI automatic operation does not function).

Check the cause

  1. Check for accompanying bus faults, particularly B.1.42 (Error counter overflow between A008 terminal and Teach-in) or B.1.12 (Electrical fault in TI automatic operation), which point to the same communication circuit.

  2. Check the voltage supply for the CAN-Bus on the A013 fuse board, specifically testing fuses F040 and F041.

  3. Inspect the CAN bus wiring and connectors between the A002 ECU (Enhanced Control) and the A008 Vario Terminal for breaks, corrosion, or loose pins.

  4. Consult Chapter 9700 Reg. A - Principle of Variotronic TI operation ('Teach-in') in the Fendt workshop manual for specific pinout testing.

Repair steps

  1. Clear the Code

Attempt to confirm and clear the fault code from the tractor's memory (press and hold the clear key on the terminal). If the fault is a hard failure, the code will repeat periodically.

  2. Resolve Power Issues

If fuses F040 or F041 on the A013 board are blown, replace them and retest the Teach-in function.

  3. Repair CAN Bus Wiring

If physical damage or high resistance is found in the wiring harness between the A002 ECU and the A008 terminal, repair the wiring using OEM-approved CAN bus splicing methods or replace the affected harness section.

  4. Software / EOL Programming

If the wiring and power supply are intact, the A002 ECU may have suffered a software corruption (EPROM fault). The module may require End-Of-Line (EOL) reprogramming or a flash update by a dealer.

  5. Module Replacement

If reprogramming fails or the A002 ECU has an internal hardware failure, replace the A002 E-Box and program it to the tractor.

Parts you might need

(4)
  • A002 - ECU, enhanced control (E-Box)

OEM part numbers vary strictly by the specific tractor model and chassis break. (Examples: G916.970.070.020 or Z916970070051 for Favorit 900 series; G395.970.100.042 for GT 300 series).

  • A008 - Vario Terminal

Generic part name; exact part number depends on Variotronic 1.0 vs 2.0 generation.

  • A013 - Printed circuit board, fuse

Generic part name for the main fuse board.

  • Fuses

Standard automotive fuses for F040 and F041.
