B.1.B0

Fendt B.1.B0 – A002 - ECU, enhanced control: A002 - ECU, enhanced control — Read error during Teach-in (program run)

Issue description

The tractor's enhanced control module has encountered a memory read error while executing the Variotronic TI "Teach-in" sequence (the automated headland management system). The Teach-in function becomes non-operational. The tractor can generally still be driven, but automated sequences cannot be executed or recorded.

Check the cause

  1. Cycle the tractor's ignition OFF, wait a few moments, and switch it back ON to check if the error is currently active or just stored in history.

  2. Verify the CAN-Bus voltage supply to the A002 ECU by inspecting fuses F040 and F041 on the A013 fuse board, as voltage drops can cause memory read/write errors.

  3. Access the diagnostics menu on the terminal to clear stored fault messages (or press keys D, B, and C simultaneously on older Vario terminals), then test the Teach-in function again.

  4. Determine via diagnostics if the error is an EEPROM memory error or a system memory error within the A002 module.

Repair steps

  1. Reboot System

Switch the ignition OFF and ON. If the error does not return, it was a temporary software glitch.

  2. Software Flash (EOL)

If the error re-occurs, reload the End-of-Line (EOL) programming into the A002 - ECU, enhanced control using FENDIAS.

  3. Hardware Replacement

If the error still occurs after a successful EOL reprogramming, the internal memory (EEPROM) of the A002 ECU has physically failed. You must replace the A002 - ECU, enhanced control.
