FiatAgri 5: Cylinder Discharge Valve Issue
Issue description
A mechanical fault within the hydraulic lift assembly's cylinder discharge valve. This valve controls the flow of hydraulic fluid to and from the main lift cylinder, enabling the lift arms to raise, lower, and hold a position. Faulty sealing, sticking, or damaged seals will cause the hydraulic lift to be unable to hold a load, resulting in the load oscillating up and down while the engine is running or slowly dropping when the engine is off.

Check the cause
Check for low hydraulic fluid level, which can cause the lift to fail
Inspect for a clogged hydraulic oil filter that can impede hydraulic function
Look for air bubbles in the suction ducts, which indicates a leak in fittings or seals that needs to be addressed
Observe lift behavior; if the lift fails to hold a load, it points towards an issue with the discharge valve's sealing or movement
Repair steps
Dismantle the valve
Access and disassemble the cylinder discharge valve assembly.
Inspect components
Carefully check the valve components for any signs of sticking, damage, or faulty sealing. Pay close attention to the condition of the discharge valve seals.
Replace damaged parts
If the seals are damaged, they must be replaced. Any other components showing wear or damage should also be replaced.
Reassemble the valve
Assemble the valve, ensuring all parts are correctly seated.
Torque the plug
When re-installing the plug for the discharge valve, it is critical to tighten it with a torque wrench to a setting of 9 to 10 kgm (65 to 72 lb-ft) to prevent distortion.
