This code indicates an internal software or hardware failure within the engine control module during its boot-up sequence. The controller is failing to initialize its internal operating program correctly, which can prevent the engine from starting or cause it to run in a severely limited state.

   Clear the code using a diagnostic scanner. If the code returns immediately upon key-on (a 'hard fault'), the internal memory or processor of the EDC is likely permanently damaged. If it is intermittent, check for loose grounds.
