This indicates an issue with the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensor located at the catalytic converter or Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The engine control system continuously monitors exhaust temperatures to manage emissions and DPF regeneration. A 'slow response' means the sensor's temperature reading is lagging and not changing as rapidly as the system expects based on current engine load, RPM, and fueling. This is typically caused by heavy soot buildup insulating the sensor probe, a degrading internal thermistor element, or high resistance in the sensor's wiring circuit.

   Scan for Related Codes: Check if other exhaust temperature or particulate filter codes are present (e.g., 01F6, 01F7, 01F8, 01F9), which could indicate a broader aftertreatment failure or a completely failed sensor circuit.
