Issue description
The engine's control system has detected that Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions are exceeding acceptable environmental thresholds. The system attributes this high NOx output to a malfunction in the fuel injection process (such as poor combustion or incorrect injection timing) or the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system's inability to compensate for the engine's raw emissions.

Check the cause
Scan for Concurrent EDC Codes: Check for cylinder-specific combustion codes (e.g., 0275 through 027A for poor air-fuel mixture in specific cylinders) or AdBlue/SCR codes. Code 025F is often a secondary symptom of a failing injector or EGR valve.
Check AdBlue (DEF) Quality and Level: Ensure the AdBlue tank is full and the fluid is not contaminated or degraded, as poor fluid will fail to reduce NOx, triggering the code.
Monitor NOx Sensor Live Data: Use a diagnostic tool to read the live data from the upstream and downstream NOx sensors. Look for erratic voltage, slow response times, or readings that are stuck, which indicates a failed sensor rather than an actual injection fault.
Fuel System Tests: Perform a fuel injector leak-off test and check the fuel rail pressure to rule out mechanical injector failure.
Inspect the Intake/EGR System: Check the EGR valve and intake hoses for carbon buildup or boost leaks, which can cause lean combustion and spike NOx levels.

Connect Diagnostic Equipment
Plug an OBD diagnostic scanner (such as Iveco EASY or a compatible Delphi unit) into the vehicle's diagnostic port and retrieve all stored EDC codes.
