Iveco 1.00E+02 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC): Immobilizer: unit or circuit failure (fuel supply blocked)

The engine control module has not received the correct authorization signal from the immobilizer system. This can happen due to an unrecognized key transponder, a faulty immobilizer control unit, or a wiring/communication failure between the modules. As a security measure, the engine ECU blocks the fuel supply, preventing the engine from starting.

   Verify the key by trying a spare programmed key to rule out a damaged RFID transponder inside the primary key.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the Immobilizer Control Unit and the Engine ECU for corrosion, bent pins, or broken wires.

   Verify the power supply and ground circuits to the immobilizer module.

   Perform the Iveco Emergency Start Procedure using the accelerator pedal and 5-digit PIN to temporarily bypass the immobilizer and confirm fuel system functionality.

   Disconnect batteries

   Disconnect the vehicle batteries before working on the electrical system.

   Repair or replace wiring

   Repair or replace any damaged wiring between the immobilizer unit and the engine ECU.

   Program new key

   If the key transponder is faulty, cut a new key and program it to the CODE ECU using a compatible diagnostic tool and the vehicle's PIN code.

   Replace immobilizer control unit

   If the immobilizer control unit is diagnosed as internally failed, remove the steering column cowling to access and replace the unit.

   Synchronize new immobilizer unit

   When installing a new immobilizer unit, it must be synchronized with the Engine ECU. This requires programming the vehicle's specific PIN code and a 6-byte hexadecimal synchronization code using an Iveco-specific diagnostic tool (like TruckTester or FiCOM).

   Perform IMMO OFF bypass

   If the vehicle is older and replacing the immobilizer is cost-prohibitive, the Engine ECU can be sent to a specialist for an "IMMO OFF" service (immobilizer bypass), or a plug-and-play IMMO OFF ECU can be installed. This permanently eliminates the need for the immobilizer box.
