Iveco 119 – Engine Control Unit (EDC) / Vehicle Control Module (VCM): Loss of voltage onboard network controller from the terminal '15'

Triggers when the controller expects to see operating voltage from the ignition switch circuit but detects a drop, an open circuit, or no voltage at all.

   Verify that the vehicle batteries are fully charged and that the main ground connections to the chassis and ECU are clean and tight

   Test the output of the ignition switch to ensure voltage is successfully sent down the Terminal 15 circuit when the key is in the 'ON' position

   Check the specific Terminal 15 power supply fuses in the central fuse panel (e.g., F164, F243, or specific EDC/VCM fuses)

   Locate the Terminal 15 / Main Power Distribution Relay and swap it with a known good relay of the same type

   Pin out the ECU connector (e.g., Pin 54 for Terminal 15 on some Daily EDC17 modules) and load-test the wire back to the fuse box to check for internal breaks, chafing, or corrosion

   Disconnect Power

   Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before working on the vehicle's electrical system to prevent short circuits.

   Access the Central Electrical Panel

   Open the fuse/relay box (usually located in the dashboard or passenger footwell, depending on the model).

   Replace Faulty Component

   If a fuse is blown: Replace the fuse, but inspect the wiring harness for a short-to-ground that caused it to blow. If the relay is faulty: Pull the old Terminal 15 relay and insert a new OEM replacement. If the wiring is damaged: Splice and solder a new section of wire into the Terminal 15 circuit, sealing it with heat-shrink tubing. If the ignition switch is failing: Remove the steering column cowl, unplug the ignition switch electrical connector, and install a new switch.

   Reassemble and Reconnect

   Reconnect the battery terminals.

   Clear Codes

   Connect an Iveco-compatible OBD diagnostic scanner, clear the 0119 fault code, and cycle the ignition key several times to ensure the code does not return.
