Iveco 212 – EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): Sensor Circuit Malfunction 2 pedal acceleration

The engine control module has detected an out-of-range voltage, a short circuit, or an incorrect signal specifically on the No. 2 sensor circuit of the accelerator pedal. This typically results in a lack of power, no throttle response (dead pedal), or engine speed being restricted to a high idle.

   Scan for accompanying codes (such as 0112 for Sensor 1) or CAN communication errors to rule out broader wiring harness or ECU issues

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the accelerator pedal for corrosion, loose pins, or chafed wires causing a short circuit

   Use a diagnostic scan tool to monitor live data for APP Sensor 2 while pressing the pedal to see if the EDC is receiving a signal

   Use a multimeter to test the resistance/voltage sweep of the pedal's potentiometers (voltage should increase smoothly; a dropout on circuit 2 confirms a faulty pedal)

   Ensure the vehicle's ignition is turned off and the key is removed.

   Locate the accelerator pedal assembly in the driver's footwell.

   Carefully unclip and disconnect the multi-pin electrical wiring harness connector from the top/side of the accelerator pedal.

   Remove the mounting bolts securing the pedal assembly to the floor or firewall.

   Remove the faulty pedal assembly.

   Position the new genuine Iveco accelerator pedal assembly and secure it with the mounting bolts.

   Reconnect the electrical wiring harness connector until it clicks into place.

   Turn on the ignition and use a diagnostic scan tool to clear the EDC 0212 fault code.

   Test the throttle response to ensure normal operation.
