   Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the crankcase pressure sensor for rubbed-through insulation, melted wires, or pinch points that could cause a short to a 12V power source.

   Disconnect the sensor and inspect the connector pins for corrosion, moisture, or bent terminals which can bridge the 12V reference/supply voltage to the signal return pin.

   Perform a voltage test: With the key ON (engine OFF) and the sensor disconnected, use a multimeter to probe the signal wire on the harness side. If it reads 12 volts, the wiring harness has a short to power.

   If the harness tests fine (no 12V short on the signal wire), the internal circuitry of the crankcase pressure sensor has likely failed and shorted internally.

   Disconnect battery

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery ground to prevent electrical spikes.

   Locate sensor

   Locate the crankcase pressure sensor on the engine block.

   Disconnect pigtail

   Disconnect the electrical pigtail from the sensor.

   Repair wiring harness

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a wiring harness short, trace the harness back to the ECU, locate the damaged section, and splice/repair the wire using weather-sealed connectors.

   Remove faulty sensor

   If the harness is good, unthread the faulty crankcase pressure sensor from the engine block.

   Install new sensor

   Install the new OEM crankcase pressure sensor and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specification.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place.

   Clear fault code

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the stored 000101.06 fault code.

   Verify repair

   Start the engine and verify that the code does not return and that crankcase pressure reads normally on the diagnostic data stream.
