John Deere 102.07 – ECU: Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor Signal

Triggered when the manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor signal is deemed invalid or erratic. It indicates a malfunction in the sensor's ability to reliably transmit data to the controller. Because the engine management system relies on this data to regulate the air-fuel mixture, an invalid signal can cause the system to misinterpret engine needs. Common symptoms of this active fault include limited engine power, the inability to perform Active Exhaust Filter cleaning (regeneration is inhibited), and potential loss of machine availability if operation continues.

   Check Sensor Connectivity: Ensure that the MAP sensor is correctly connected. Inspect the electrical connector to ensure the contacts are clean, secure, and free of corrosion or moisture.

   Inspect the Wiring Harness: Check the wiring between the sensor and the ECU for any signs of chafing, shorts to ground, or open circuits.

   Diagnose Sensor Function: Test the sensor's output voltage to determine if it is functioning within the specified parameters outlined in the machine's specific Component Technical Manual (CTM).

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery power before servicing the sensor.

   Locate and Remove

   Locate the Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor on the engine's air intake manifold. Disconnect the wiring harness and carefully unthread/remove the faulty sensor.

   Clean and Prep

   Clean the mounting area on the manifold thoroughly. If specified by the OEM design, apply thread sealant to the new sensor or ensure the accompanying gasket/seal is in place.

   Install the New Sensor

   Mount the new sensor directly to the intake manifold and securely reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reset and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Cycle the key switch to power the tractor and use a compatible diagnostic display/tool to clear the stored fault codes. Start the engine and conduct thorough testing to confirm the sensor is reading accurately and the 000102.07 error does not reappear.
