John Deere 1058.03 – CCU or XMC / XSC / XSA: Pressure Switch for Air Brake System, Voltage Too High
Issue description
The control module has detected that the voltage signal returning from the air brake pressure switch (or trailer brake pressure sensor) exceeds the expected normal range. This typically indicates a circuit fault, such as an open circuit, a disconnected sensor, or a short to a power source. As a safety precaution, the system will automatically disable the trailer brakes when this code is active.

Check the cause
Power cycle the key switch (turn the tractor power off and back on) to see if the code is a temporary glitch
Check the CommandCenter™ display for any immediate on-screen solutions
Visually inspect the wiring harness and connector at the air brake pressure switch for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins that could cause an open circuit
Use a multimeter to test the sensor circuit back to the CCU or XSC/XSA controller to rule out a short-to-voltage in the wiring harness
Repair steps
Power down and depressurize
Power down the tractor, turn off the key switch, and ensure the air brake system is safely depressurized.
Locate sensor
Locate the Air Brake Pressure Switch / Trailer Brake Pressure Sensor (typically located on the air brake system manifold).
Inspect and clean connector
Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector and inspect for moisture or corrosion. Clean with contact cleaner if necessary.
Diagnose sensor failure
If the wiring harness tests good (no shorts to power or open wires), the sensor itself has failed internally.
Replace sensor
Unthread the faulty Air Brake Pressure Switch from the manifold and install the replacement sensor.
Reconnect harness
Reconnect the electrical harness.
Verify repair
Restart the engine to attempt vehicle recovery. Verify that the fault code clears and that trailer brake functionality is restored.
Parts you might need
(1)Air Brake Pressure Switch / Trailer Pre-Brake Pressure Sensor
Ensure you are purchasing the switch specific to your tractor's air brake manifold, as thread pitches and connector types vary between the 6-Series (CCU) and 8-Series (XSC/XSA) modules.
