107.15

John Deere 107.15 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): The Air Filter Sensor Has Detected High Pressure Difference, Suggests a Blocked Air Filter

Issue description

The engine air filter pressure differential is slightly elevated or restricted. Essentially, the engine is struggling to pull intake air through the filter due to a blockage or heavy dirt accumulation, causing a vacuum/pressure difference that triggers the sensor.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect both the primary (outer) and secondary (inner) air filters for heavy dirt, dust, or debris.

  2. Ensure the precleaner is functioning and that the aspirator tube is not clogged.

  3. Ensure the radiator and cooling system are free of debris, as restricted airflow can exacerbate intake issues.

  4. For Tier 4 models, check for software updates (e.g., SW62305K) to prevent premature setting of restriction faults when the EGR valve is closed.

Repair steps

  1. Service the Air Filter Assembly

Open the air cleaner housing and remove the primary air filter.

  2. Replace the Primary Filter

Install a brand-new primary filter. Do not attempt to blow out the old filter with compressed air, as this can damage the filter media and allow dust into the engine.

  3. Evaluate the Secondary Filter

Replace the secondary (inner) filter if it is dirty, or as a rule of thumb, replace it every other time you change the primary filter.

  4. Clear Debris

Clean out the air cleaner housing, aspirator, and radiator fins before reassembly.

  5. Cycle Power

Turn the key switch off and back on, or restart the engine to see if the code clears from the CommandCenter™ display.

  6. Sensor Replacement

If you start the tractor with brand-new filters and the 000107.15 code immediately returns (and software updates have been ruled out), the Air Filter Restriction Sensor itself or its wiring circuit is likely faulty and must be replaced.
