John Deere 1075.15 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Low-Pressure Fuel Pump Temperature Slightly High / Fuel Pump Temperature Too High

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has detected that the temperature of the electric low-pressure fuel pump is higher than expected. This is often caused by a dirty or failing pump, or a restriction in the fuel circuit that impedes proper fuel flow, causing the pump to overwork and overheat. The ECU may limit engine function or derate power to prevent potential damage due to inadequate fuel supply.

   Verify the fuel tank level is adequate.

   Inspect the primary fuel filter/water separator and secondary fuel filter for clogs, dirt, or debris that could restrict flow.

   Inspect the low-pressure fuel lines for blockages, kinks, or leaks that could impede fuel flow to the pump.

   Check the low-pressure fuel pump itself for signs of external debris buildup or mechanical failure.

   Use John Deere diagnostic tools to test the functionality of the fuel pump and ensure it is operating within specified electrical parameters.

   Preparation

   Turn off the engine and ensure the machine is safely parked. Open the engine cover and remove the necessary engine side panels to access the primary fuel filter and water separator header.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Locate the electric low-pressure fuel pump (typically mounted to the filter header). Disconnect the jumper wiring harness connection from the electric fuel pump.

   Remove the Pump

   Loosen and remove the three (3) cap screws securing the fuel pump to the filter header.

   Extract

   Carefully remove the fuel pump from the filter header.

   Install New Pump

   Clean the mounting surface. Install the new electric low-pressure fuel pump and secure it with the three cap screws.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the jumper wiring harness to the new pump.

   Bleed the Fuel System

   Make sure the fuel shutoff valve is in the ON position. Turn the switched power ON (do not crank the engine yet). The electric low-pressure fuel pump will start to bleed air automatically. Allow the fuel pump to run for 120 seconds to prime the system.

   Verify

   Start the engine and check the fuel supply system for leaks. If the engine starts and stalls, repeat the bleeding procedure.

9. 9

   Clear Codes

   Reset the ECU to clear the 001075.15 error code and verify normal operation.
