John Deere 1209.07 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Exhaust Manifold Pressure Mismatch
Issue description
The control module detects a discrepancy in the exhaust manifold pressure readings, where the signal is either out of the expected range or inconsistent with other engine operating parameters. This typically causes the engine software to limit engine power (derate) and disable Active Exhaust Filter cleaning.

Check the cause
Inspect the exhaust manifold pressure sensor, its wiring harness, and connectors for signs of physical damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
Measure the voltage at the sensor terminals using a multimeter to ensure the 5V supply is not shorted to ground (causing a low reading) or shorted to a higher voltage.
Inspect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve and cooler for soot blockages, as heavy unburnt fuel deposits can alter pressure differentials and cause a mismatch reading.
Repair steps
Power down the machine and locate the exhaust manifold pressure sensor on the engine block/exhaust manifold.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor.
Remove the internally faulty sensor.
Proceed with this step if the wiring and voltage tests (performed during diagnostics) are normal but the code persists.
Unthread the defective sensor and install the new OEM replacement sensor.
Securely reconnect the wiring harness to the new sensor.
Turn the machine's power back on and reset the ECU to clear the 001209.07 error code.
Start the engine and test the system under load.
Confirm that accurate pressure readings are restored, the engine is no longer derated, and active exhaust filter cleaning is available.
