John Deere 1347.01 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Suction Control Valve Sticking and Fuel Rail Pressure Extremely Low

The engine controller has detected that the fuel rail pressure has dropped significantly below the required setpoint. This condition typically results in limited engine power (derate) or engine shutdown to protect the system.

   Ensure there is no plugged fuel supply, fuel filters are clean, and the tank has adequate fuel

   Verify there is no air in the fuel system during the low-pressure check

   Check for dirty or failed fuel injectors, as well as high injector leak-off rates

   Test the electronic Pressure Relief Valve (ePRV) for faults or leaks

   Verify the timing of the high-pressure fuel pump (HP3, HP4, or HP6 variants)

   Check for electrical failures at the injector solenoids and the Suction Control Valve (SCV) connectors

   Verify the engine does not have low compression

   Turn off the engine and allow the system to depressurize and cool.

   Ensure the system is safe to work on by letting it depressurize and cool down.

   Clean the area around the high-pressure fuel pump.

   Prevent debris from entering the fuel system during the repair.

   Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the Suction Control Valve.

   Detach the electrical connection to the SCV.

   Remove the mounting fasteners securing the SCV to the high-pressure fuel pump.

   Unbolt the SCV from the pump assembly.

   Carefully extract the old SCV and discard the old O-rings.

   Remove the faulty valve and ensure old O-rings are not reused.

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new Suction Control Valve with clean diesel fuel.

   Prepare the new SCV for installation by lubricating its O-rings.

   Install the new SCV into the pump and torque the mounting fasteners to OEM specifications.

   Secure the new valve in place with the correct torque.

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reattach the wiring connector to the new SCV.

   Prime the fuel system to purge any introduced air.

   Remove air from the fuel lines before starting the engine.

    Clear the 001347.01 fault code from the ECU and run the engine.

    Verify that the fuel rail pressure now meets the commanded setpoint.
