   Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading from the Engine ECU to the Suction Control Valve for chafed wires, melted insulation, or corrosion.

   Measure Circuit Resistance: Disconnect the SCV connector and use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the valve's pins. A reading near zero ohms confirms the valve's internal coil is shorted.

   Harness Continuity/Short Test: With the SCV and ECU disconnected, test the harness wires for continuity to ground to check for a shorted wiring harness.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical damage.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic tests revealed a short in the wiring harness, repair the damaged section of the wire or replace the harness segment.

   Replace the Suction Control Valve

   Locate the high-pressure fuel pump on the engine. Clean the area around the valve thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the fuel system. Disconnect the electrical connector from the SCV. Remove the mounting bolts securing the valve to the pump. Carefully extract the old valve and ensure the old O-rings are removed with it. Lubricate the O-rings on the new SCV with clean diesel fuel. Insert the new valve into the pump and torque the mounting bolts to the OEM specification. Reconnect the electrical connector.

   Prime the Fuel System

   Turn the key to the ON position (without starting) to allow the lift pump to prime the system, or use the manual primer if equipped.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery, use a diagnostic tool to clear the 001347.06 code from the ECU, and run the engine to verify that rail pressure is stable and the code does not return.
