John Deere 1498: Header Engage Output Transistor Fault
Issue description
The header engage output transistor has detected an open, short, over voltage, or over temperature condition. The Armrest Control Unit will disengage the header to prevent further damage. The fault condition must be resolved before the header can be re-engaged.
Check the cause
The header engage output transistor
The circuit connected to the header engage output transistor
Power supply and voltage levels to the header engage output transistor
Temperature conditions around the header engage output transistor
Repair steps
Inspect
Inspect the header engage output transistor for visible damage or signs of overheating.
Test
Test the header engage output transistor for continuity, voltage, and temperature using appropriate diagnostic tools.
Check
Check the circuit connected to the header engage output transistor for shorts, opens, or abnormal voltage levels.
Verify
Verify that the power supply and temperature conditions around the header engage output transistor are within acceptable limits.
Reset
Once the fault condition is resolved, reset the system and attempt to re-engage the header.
