John Deere 1871.09 – BLC: Incorrect CAN BUS Message, Information from TEC Control Software

A data transfer problem has occurred between the BLC control software and the TEC (Tractor Equipment Control) software. The reception of one or more CAN messages transmitted by the TEC control software is intermittent, corrupted, or non-existent.

   Inspect all CAN bus connections between the BLC and TEC control modules for secure installation, damaged or backed-out pins, and corroded connectors.

   Verify the wiring harness integrity along the CAN bus network, ensuring wires are intact, free of chafing, and not shorting against the chassis.

   Use a CAN bus analyzer or John Deere Service ADVISOR to test the network for intermittent connections, abnormal traffic, or data transfer issues.

   Verify that the TEC and BLC control software are up to date, as software glitches can cause message processing errors.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Access the Modules

   Locate the BLC and TEC control modules and their respective wiring harnesses.

   Repair Wiring/Connectors
