John Deere 1871.19 – BLC: Incorrect CAN BUS Message, Implement Sends Error Message
Issue description
This code indicates that the tractor's control system is communicating with a connected implement over the CAN bus, but the implement's controller is actively broadcasting an error message or invalid data back to the tractor.

Check the cause
Isolate the implement by disconnecting it from the tractor's ISOBUS/CAN receptacle. If the code changes to a 'Cannot Be Received' state or clears, the fault is isolated to the implement.
Access the tractor's Diagnostics Center display and check the CANBUS State and Error Counts (Passive Error Count, BUS Warn Count, BUS Off Count).
Inspect the implement connector and harness for corrosion, moisture, or backed-out pins on the four CAN wires (Red, Black, Yellow, Green).
Disconnect the tractor battery and measure resistance between pins C and D of the diagnostic connector (60 ohms is normal; 120 ohms or OL indicates a missing resistor or open circuit).
If an oscilloscope is available, probe pins C and D to look for corrupted CAN waveforms. Unplug controllers on the implement one at a time until the pattern normalizes.
Repair steps
Perform a Cold Boot
Perform a complete cold boot of the tractor and implement. If the code persists, proceed to physical repairs.
Clean and Repair Connectors
If the implement connector is dirty or corroded, clean the pins thoroughly with electronic contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease.
Repair Harness Wiring
If the resistance test failed (120 ohms or OL) or if wiggling the harness causes the CAN state to drop, locate the break in the Yellow (CAN High) or Green (CAN Low) wires and repair it using weather-sealed splice connectors.
Replace Terminating Resistors
If a terminating resistor is found to be burnt out or missing on the implement side of the CAN network, plug in a new terminating resistor to restore the 60-ohm network balance.
Address the Implement Controller
Diagnose the specific implement using its proprietary manual, or replace the implement's control module.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and clear the stored BLC codes to verify the repair.
