John Deere 1872.03 – SCO: Front Hitch Position Sensor Circuit Supply Voltage High
Issue description
Indicates that the 5-volt supply voltage to the front hitch position sensor is reading higher than the acceptable threshold, or there is a short-to-voltage condition within the sensor's circuit.

Check the cause
Check the wiring harness and connectors running from the Front Chassis Module (SCO) to the Front Hitch Position Sensor for physical damage, pinched wires, or corrosion.
Perform the SCO—Front Hitch Position Sensor Circuit Test to check for continuity and specifically check for a short circuit to a voltage source in the sensor wiring.
Verify the reference voltage at the sensor connector to ensure the module is outputting the correct 5V supply and that it is not being spiked by a short.
Repair steps
Isolate the Fault
Disconnect the Front Hitch Position Sensor. If the voltage on the signal wire drops to normal/zero, the sensor itself has an internal short and must be replaced. If the voltage remains high, the wiring harness is shorted to power and must be repaired.
Repair/Replace
Repair the damaged section of the wiring harness, or replace the faulty Front Hitch Position Sensor.
Clear Codes
Resolve or erase all hitch-related fault codes from the SCO module.
Recalibrate
Perform a Front Hitch Position Sensor Calibration via the cab display or service tool so the module can learn the new stored calibration values for the hitch's full range of motion.
