Issue description

The control module is receiving a signal voltage from the rear hitch draft pin sensor that falls outside the normal operating parameters, or there is a calibration error preventing the system from accurately reading the draft load on the rear hitch.

Check the cause

  3. Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and connectors associated with the Rear Hitch Draft Sensor for any physical damage, loose connections, or corrosion.

  4. Voltage Test: Measure the sensor's output voltage to ensure it is within the specified range. Check for manual switch control interference.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

    Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

  2. Access the Sensor

    Locate the faulty draft pin sensor on the rear hitch assembly (refer to your specific model's diagram, as some models have both left and right draft pin sensors).

  3. Remove the Faulty Sensor

    Disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor. Remove the retaining hardware and extract the draft pin sensor from the hitch linkage.

  4. Install the New Sensor

    Insert the replacement draft pin sensor.

  5. Lubricate

    Lubricate the rear hitch draft sensor using John Deere™ SD Polyurea grease (or an equivalent specified in your Operator's Manual).

  6. Reconnect

    Reattach the wiring harness securely. Reconnect the battery.

  7. Recalibrate the Hitch

    Crucial Step: Because the code specifically mentions an "HCU Calibration Fault," you must perform a proper calibration of the Rear Hitch Draft Sensor via the CommandCenter or John Deere Service ADVISOR tool according to the manufacturer's instructions.
