Issue description

The control module is receiving a valid engine speed (RPM) signal over the CAN BUS from the Engine Control Unit (ECU), but the RPM has dropped below the minimum threshold required for the current operation. Check the cause

  2. Adjust Throttle During Calibration

  3. Test the Engine Speed Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor)

    If the code occurs during normal driving and the engine is actually running at the correct speed, locate the engine speed sensor on the engine block. Check the sensor for physical damage, metal debris on the magnetic tip, or a loose mounting bolt. Disconnect the sensor and check the wiring harness for chafing, corrosion, or moisture in the connector.

  4. Verify CAN Wiring to the Rear Chassis

    Inspect the wiring harness running from the Engine ECU to the Rear Chassis (PTR) module. Look for pinch points or damaged pins at the PTR connector.

  5. Software Update

    If no physical faults are found, connect John Deere Service ADVISOR. Check if there is a software update for the PTR or Engine ECU that addresses overly sensitive RPM monitoring.
