John Deere 2023.06 – ICC (Instrument Cluster Control): ICC Current High
Issue description
Dash Module Has Noted A High Battery/Alternator Voltage. The controller has detected that the electrical system's voltage or current (supplied by the battery/alternator circuit) has exceeded the maximum safe threshold for the module.

Check the cause
Verify the error message on the ICC display to confirm the code is active.
Test alternator output voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running. If voltage exceeds normal charging parameters (over 14.5V - 15V), it indicates an overcharging alternator or failed voltage regulator.
Inspect the wiring harness between the alternator, the battery, and the ICC for any shorts-to-power or damaged insulation.
Test the ICC supply circuit voltage at the instrument cluster connector to ensure the high current/voltage reading isn't a false positive caused by an internal short within the ICC itself.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Always disconnect the negative battery cable before servicing the electrical system.
Address the Charging System (If Overcharging)
If the alternator was found to be overcharging during diagnostics, remove the drive belt, disconnect the alternator electrical connections, and replace the alternator assembly.
Repair Wiring (If Shorted)
If a short was found in the harness, repair the damaged wires using appropriate weather-sealed connectors and re-loom the harness.
Replace the ICC (If Internally Faulty)
If the alternator and wiring are perfectly fine but the ICC continues to log a high current fault, the dash module itself must be replaced. The new ICC must be reprogrammed by a John Deere dealer using the Service Advisor software (referencing DTAC solution 101078) to input the tractor's serial number and verify the ICC address.
Clear Codes and Verify
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and verify that the charging voltage is normal and the 002023.06 code has cleared.
