Check the cause
Power Cycle: Restart the engine and cycle the key switch. This code can be triggered by intermittent voltage drops or software glitches that resolve upon a reboot.
Visual Inspection: Inspect the CAN Bus wiring and connectors between the Corner Post Display (PDU) and the reporting module (e.g., CLC or ECU) for loose connections, pinched wires, or corrosion.
Verify PDU Operation: Check if the Corner Post Display is turning on and functioning properly. If the screen is blank or glitching, the display itself is likely the culprit.
Software Check: Ensure the firmware for the PDU, CLC, and ECU are updated to the latest versions to rule out software compatibility issues.
Repair steps
Clear and Retest
Cycle the tractor power. If the code becomes inactive, clear it from the system and return the machine to service.
Access the Harness
If the code is active, remove the interior cab trim to access the wiring harness behind the Corner Post Display (PDU) and the Cab Load Controller (CLC).
Inspect Connectors
Disconnect the harnesses at both the PDU and the CLC. Look for pushed-back pins, moisture, or corrosion. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and reconnect securely.
Test CAN Lines
Using a multimeter, perform a continuity test on the CAN High and CAN Low wires between the PDU and the CLC/ECU. Repair or replace any open, shorted, or high-resistance wiring.
System Reset / Update
Perform a system reset to reestablish communication. If a John Deere Service ADVISOR tool is available, flash the latest software to the PDU and CLC.
Replace Component
If the wiring is intact and software is updated but the communication fault persists, replace the Corner Post Display Unit (PDU) or the Cab Load Controller (CLC), depending on which module is failing to transmit.
