John Deere 2047.09 – ICC (Instrument Cluster Controller): No CAN Message Received From Source Address 47
Issue description
The dash module (ICC) is experiencing an intermittent or complete loss of data transfer from the main vehicle control module over the CAN bus network, typically caused by loose wiring, connectivity interruptions, or a failure of the transmitting module.

Check the cause
Turn the key switch ON, clear the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) using Service ADVISOR™ or the Standard Display Monitor (SDM), and cycle the key switch to determine if the fault is intermittent or immediate.
Inspect all related CAN bus wiring and connections between the ICC (Dash) and the CCU/TSC for chafed wires, loose connector pins, or corrosion.
Confirm that the transmitting module (CCU, TSC, or FLC) is receiving proper power and ground, as a blown fuse or bad ground will take the module offline.
Utilize diagnostic tools to check for other active CAN bus faults to determine if the entire CAN bus network is shorted or open.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the machine's battery before servicing the electrical system to prevent short circuits.
Access the Harness
Gain access to the rear of the Instrument Cluster Controller (ICC) and the main Chassis Control Unit (CCU).
Repair Wiring/Connectors
Secure all connections between the modules. If the diagnostic checks revealed damaged wires or corroded connector pins on the CAN High or CAN Low lines, repair or replace the defective harness sections.
Test the Source Module
If the wiring harness tests perfectly for continuity and lacks shorts to ground/power, the fault likely lies within the CCU/TSC failing to broadcast.
Module Replacement
If the CCU or TSC is deemed internally faulty, replace the module. Note: Replacing a main control unit will require a John Deere dealer to program and calibrate the new module using Service ADVISOR™.
Clear and Verify
Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and clear the stored 002047.09 code. Operate the machine to ensure transmission and dash functionalities have returned to normal and the code does not reset.
