   Turn off the tractor, wait 30 seconds, and restart it. If the code clears and does not return, it was a temporary communication glitch and no further action is required.

   Check Power Supply

   Locate the fuse panel and test the fuses powering the Cab Control Unit and the Front PTO Control Unit. Replace any blown fuses.

   Test Battery/Alternator

   Use a multimeter to test the battery and alternator output. Ensure the system is maintaining proper voltage (typically ~12.5V resting, ~14V running). Fix any voltage drops.

   Inspect and Clean the Harness

   Trace the CAN bus wiring harness between the PTF and the CAB. Look for chafed wires, pinched cables, or loose connectors. Disconnect the harnesses, clean the connector pins with electrical contact cleaner, ensure they are seated tightly, and check for proper grounding.

   Dealer Intervention

   If the wiring is intact and power is verified, the issue may require a software update for the CAB or PTF modules, or one of the modules may have failed internally. This step requires a John Deere dealer to connect their Service ADVISOR diagnostic tool to verify module communication and perform calibrations.
