   Cycle tractor power to see if the code clears

   Check battery voltage (low voltage or improper jump-starting can cause erratic codes)

   Inspect the supply circuit wiring harness leading to the FCC or ICC for shorts to ground or exposed wires

   Power cycle and clear

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, wait for the system to power down completely, and restart to see if the code is an active hard fault or a stored anomaly.

   Test battery and grounds

   Load test the battery and clean all primary chassis grounds. Ensure the alternator is not overcharging or undercharging the system.

   Inspect harness connector

   Locate the FCC (front console) or ICC (instrument cluster) module. Disconnect the main harness connector and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or melting (which indicates high current draw).

   Test circuit voltage

   Using a multimeter and the specific electrical wiring diagram for your model, test the supply voltage pins on the module's connector. Verify that the circuit is not shorted to ground.

   Replace control module

   If the wiring harness tests perfectly but the code remains active, the internal circuitry of the FCC or ICC has likely failed and is drawing excessive current. The module must be replaced and reprogrammed by a John Deere dealer.
