John Deere 2145.09 – CSC: Incorrect CAN BUS Message, Information from FCC Control Software
Issue description
This code is generated when there is a data transfer problem on the machine's CAN Bus network. Specifically, the reception of one, several, or all CAN messages transmitted by the FCC control software is intermittent or completely non-existent, usually pointing to a physical communication issue.

Check the cause
Power Cycle: Turn off the tractor, cycle the key switch, and restart to see if the code is an intermittent glitch that clears on startup.
Inspect CAN Bus Connections: Physically check all CAN bus connectors between the CSC and FCC modules. Look for signs of damage, loose pins, pushed-out terminals, or corrosion.
Verify Wiring Integrity: Inspect the wiring harness connecting the front chassis and the cab for any signs of wear, chafing, or damage.
Test CAN Bus Network: Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the CAN High and CAN Low lines between the FCC and CSC. Check for shorts to ground or shorts to power.
Check for Electrical Interference: Ensure there are no unshielded aftermarket electrical accessories near the CAN bus network causing communication interference.
Software Verification: Check if the FCC and CSC control software are updated to the latest versions, as outdated software can cause message processing errors.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the engine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Clean and Reseat Connectors
If the diagnostic checks revealed loose or dirty connectors at either the FCC or CSC, clean them with electrical contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and securely reseat them.
Repair the Harness
If a break or short is found in the CAN bus wiring harness, splice and solder the damaged wires, sealing them with heat-shrink tubing to protect against moisture.
Replace Faulty Module
If the wiring tests perfectly but the FCC is still not broadcasting messages (or the CSC is failing to receive them), the faulty control unit must be replaced.
Reprogramming
If a control unit (FCC or CSC) is replaced, connect the tractor to John Deere Service ADVISOR to flash the latest software, calibrate the module, and clear the stored 002145.09 fault code.
Test Operation
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and verify that the fault code does not return and that cab suspension/front chassis functions operate normally.
