John Deere 2240.09 – BLC / ICU / BCU / PDU / PTF: Incorrect CAN Bus Message from TEC / TEC Message Missing

The logging control module is experiencing intermittent or completely absent reception of one or more CAN bus messages from the TEC (Transmission Electronic Controller / Tractor Equipment Control Unit). This communication disruption is typically caused by loose wiring, faulty connections, signal interference, or a failure within the TEC itself.

   Restart the tractor to verify if the code was triggered by a temporary communication glitch

   Safely Park the Machine

   Place the tractor in park and shut off the engine.

   Inspect and Replace Fuse F23

   Locate the fuse panel and inspect fuse F23. If it is blown, replace it with a fuse of the exact same amperage rating.

   Reset and Retest

   Restart the vehicle. If the code clears and does not return, the issue was likely a blown fuse or a temporary glitch.

   Repair Wiring/Connectors

   If the code returns, access the wiring harness connecting the TEC to the CAN bus network. Repair or replace any damaged wires, and clean any corroded connector pins.

   Clear Codes

   After making wiring corrections, reset the logging module (BLC/BCU/ICU) to clear stored error codes and reinitialize the system settings.
