John Deere 2352.06 – BLC, RLC, or CLC: High Current Draw on Front Cab Work Lights or Low-Beam Headlights

The control module has detected an abnormally high current draw (High Amps) on the circuit for the front cab work lights or low-beam headlights when they are turned on. This is typically caused by a short circuit to ground in the wiring harness, a damaged connector, or a faulty/internally shorted headlight bulb.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness running from the load center to the front cab headlights for chafing, melted insulation, or pinch points that could cause a short to the frame.

   Examine the headlight pigtail connectors for water intrusion, corrosion, or melted pins.

   Isolate the short: Disconnect the affected headlights and turn the light switch on. If the fault code changes to 002352.05 (Open Circuit), the short is internal to the bulb or light assembly. If the 002352.06 code remains, the short is in the machine's wiring harness.

   Ensure the installed bulbs are not aftermarket high-wattage variants that exceed the circuit's maximum amperage rating.

   Disconnect battery

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery ground cable to prevent further module damage.

   Remove faulty component

   If the diagnostic isolation test pointed to the bulb/assembly, remove the faulty headlight housing or bulb.

   Trace wiring

   If the test pointed to the harness, trace the wiring back from the headlight connector to the cab load center. Locate the chafed or melted section of the wire.

   Repair wiring

   Cut out the damaged wire section and splice in a new wire using weather-sealed heat-shrink butt connectors, or replace the damaged pigtail harness.

   Install new part

   Install the new OEM-spec bulb or LED work light assembly.

   Test lights

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and activate the low-beam headlights.

   Clear fault code

   Verify the lights illuminate correctly and use the machine's diagnostic monitor to clear the 002352.06 fault code.
