John Deere 2360.06 – CLC: Rear Fender Flood Light Circuit Current Problem

The control module has detected an abnormally high electrical current draw on the circuit that powers the rear fender work lights. This condition is typically caused by a shorted light bulb, a wiring short to ground (earth), or the installation of aftermarket accessories that draw more amperage than the circuit is designed to handle.

   Inspect the rear fender flood light bulbs for internal shorts, blown filaments, or signs of melting

   Check for and remove any operator-customized aftermarket accessories (such as high-wattage halogen flood lights, hazard lights, or window wipers) spliced into the rear fender light circuit

   Inspect the rear fender wiring harness for chafing, pinched wires, or exposed copper that could be causing a direct short to ground (earth) against the machine's frame

   Isolate the Circuit

   Turn off the tractor and remove the key.

   Disconnect the Lamps

   Disconnect the electrical connectors at both rear fender flood lights.

   Test the Circuit

   Turn the key on and activate the work lights. If the code changes from "Current High" (06) to "Current Low/Open Circuit" (05), the wiring is fine and the fault is isolated to the bulb/lamp assembly itself.

   Replace the Faulty Bulb/Lamp

   If the bulb is shorted or if an incompatible aftermarket light was installed, replace it with the correct OEM-spec bulb or LED assembly.

   Repair Wiring (If Necessary)

   If the code remains active with the lights unplugged, trace the wiring harness from the rear fenders back to the Cab Load Center (CLC). Repair any damaged sections of the harness where a short to ground is present.

   Clear Codes

   Cycle the key switch to clear the code. If the code persists after verifying the wiring and bulbs are perfect, the CLC module itself may have an internal short and will require dealer-level programming/replacement.
