2362.05

John Deere 2362.05 – BLC / CLC / RLC: Rear Roof Flood Light Circuit Current Problem

Issue description

The current (amperage) detected on the circuit is lower than expected, which typically points to an open circuit. The most common cause is a blown light bulb, but it can also be triggered by a disconnected wire, a broken wire, or high resistance (corrosion) in a connector.

Check the cause

  1. Check condition of light bulb.

  2. Inspect the connector at the rear roof inner work light for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture ingress.

  3. Unplug the connector and check for continuity and proper ground on the wiring harness leading back to the BLC/CLC/RLC module.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the machine, remove the key, and ensure the work light switch is in the OFF position.

  2. Access the Light

Safely access the rear roof inner work light assembly.

  3. Remove and Inspect Bulb

Remove the lens/housing and pull the bulb. Inspect the filament. If the filament is broken or the glass is blackened, the bulb is blown.

  4. Replace Bulb

Install a new bulb of the correct wattage. (Do not touch halogen glass with bare fingers, as oil can cause premature failure).

  5. Clean Contacts

If the bulb was not blown, spray the electrical connector with contact cleaner and check for high resistance. Reconnect securely.

  6. Test

Turn the machine's key to the ON position and activate the work lights.

  7. Clear Code

If the light illuminates, cycle the tractor power to see if the code clears. If the code persists, the issue lies in a broken wire between the roof harness and the Load Center, requiring a harness repair or replacement.
