John Deere 2362.06 – CLC: Rear Roof Flood Light Circuit Current Problem

The system has detected abnormally high electrical current (amperage) on the circuit powering the rear roof/cab corner work lights. This condition is typically caused by a short to ground (earth) in the wiring harness, a failed bulb drawing excessive current, or the installation of aftermarket accessories that exceed the circuit's maximum amperage rating.

   Check for aftermarket accessories (such as high-draw halogen flood lights) spliced into the rear roof light circuit, which can overload the CLC circuit

   Isolate the bulb vs. wiring by disconnecting the rear roof inner work lights and turning them back on to see if the code changes to 002362.05 (Open Circuit or Short to Power)

   Inspect the wiring harness leading up to the rear cab roof for chafing, pinched wires, or exposed copper that may be shorting directly to the cab frame (earth)

   Turn off all work lights and power down the machine.

   Access the rear roof inner work light assembly and remove the lens/housing.

   Remove the light bulb and inspect it for internal shorting, melting, or verify if it is the incorrect wattage for the machine.

   If the bulb is faulty or incorrect, replace it with the proper OEM-specified bulb.

   If the bulb is in good condition, use a digital multimeter to test the power wire in the light connector for continuity to ground.

   Locate and repair any damaged wiring in the harness causing the short to earth.

   Wrap repaired wires in electrical tape and protective loom.

   Reinstall the bulb and housing.

   Restart the vehicle and turn the work lights on.

   If the code still exists after verifying the bulb and wiring, John Deere OEM manuals state you must have a dealer repair the system, as the Cab Load Center (CLC) itself may have suffered an internal fault.
