   Determine if any control unit (CCU, ICC, PL1, or ECU) was recently replaced, swapped from another tractor, or updated, as used modules retain their old VIN

   Check the control software settings via a diagnostic tool to ensure the VIN security function is properly enabled and communicating

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Identify the Mismatched Module

   Read the codes to see which specific module (e.g., CCU, ICC, or PL1) is logging the 000237.12 code and holding the incorrect VIN data.

   Reprogram Control Software

   Reprogram the affected control module(s) using the correct and updated software version (Payload) for that specific tractor's serial number.

   Re-enable VIN Security

   During the programming process, follow the prompts to write the correct VIN to the module and re-enable the VIN security function.

   End-of-Line (EOL) Calibration

   If the CCU or PL1 was reprogrammed, perform an EOL calibration to ensure the tractor's transmission and security systems recognize the new data.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Clear all stored DTCs, cycle the key, and verify that the modules boot up without triggering the 000237.12 mismatch code.
