   Verify Recent Service History: Check if the ICC, CCU, or Engine ECU was recently replaced, updated, or reprogrammed.

   Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for CAN bus communication errors (e.g., 000639.12 or 002000.09) or internal module faults (e.g., 000628.12 - Control Unit Internal Fault) which might indicate a hardware failure.

   Power Cycle Test: Turn the key off and wait a full 60 seconds to allow the ICC to properly power down, save configuration data, and come back online, then restart the tractor to see if the code clears.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the John Deere Service ADVISOR laptop to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Module Reprogramming

   Navigate to the ICC (or the specific module throwing the code) and initiate a reprogramming/payload update.

   Push EOL Data

   Ensure the correct End of Line (EOL) configuration data and the tractor's specific VIN are pushed to the module so the security handshake can be enabled.

   Perform the 60-Second Key Cycle

   After Service ADVISOR confirms the flash is complete, turn the ignition key to the OFF position. You must wait a full 60 seconds before turning the key back on to allow the module to save the VIN security state.

   Clear Codes

   Turn the key back on, verify the VIN mismatch/security code is gone, and clear any stored inactive codes.

   Module Replacement (If Necessary)

   If the ICC refuses to accept the programming or immediately drops the configuration data again, the internal memory of the module has failed. The dash module/ICC must be physically replaced and then programmed from scratch using Service ADVISOR.
