John Deere 2370.05 – ICC, CLC, RLC, or FCC: Right Turn Signal Lights Circuit Current Below Normal or Open Circuit

Issue description

The control unit has detected that the electrical current drawing on the right turn signal circuit has dropped below the expected threshold (typically below 500 milliamperes / 0.5 amps). This indicates an open circuit, which is most commonly caused by a burnt-out bulb, a disconnected plug, a broken wire, or a faulty control module.

Check the cause

  1. Cycle the Power: Turn the key switch off, wait a few moments, and restart the engine. Sometimes communication messages can be reset simply by cycling the tractor power.

  2. Inspect the Bulbs: Check all right-side turn signal bulbs (front fender, cab roof warning lights, and rear tail/brake lights) for proper operation. A burnt-out filament is the most common cause of the "low amps" reading.

  3. Inspect Sockets and Connectors: Check the bulb sockets and wiring harness connectors for corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose pins.

  4. Continuity Test: Use a multimeter to check for continuity in the right turn signal circuit to rule out a broken wire between the light housing and the control module (ICC/CLC/RLC).

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

    Turn off the machine, remove the key, and engage the parking brake.

  2. Access the Bulb

    Locate the right turn signal housing that is failing to illuminate. Remove the lens cover screws and pull off the amber lens.

  3. Replace the Bulb

    Push in and twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it. If the glass is dark or the filament is broken, replace it with a new OEM-spec bulb.

  4. Clean the Socket

    If the bulb appears fine, inspect the socket contacts. Clean any rust or corrosion using electrical contact cleaner and a small wire brush. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to prevent future moisture issues.

  5. Check the Wiring

    If a new bulb does not resolve the issue, trace the wiring harness from the light housing back to the cab module. Look for pinch points, chafing, or severed wires (especially near articulation joints or cab mounts). Repair any broken wires using weather-sealed butt connectors.

  6. Test the System

    Reinstall the bulb and lens cover. Turn the ignition on and activate the right turn signal. Check the CommandCenter or dash display to verify that the active 002370.05 code has cleared. (If the code persists after verifying the wiring and bulb, the ICC/CLC/RLC module itself may have a faulty internal driver and will require dealer-level testing).
