   Isolate the trailer: Unplug any implement or trailer from the 7-pin socket and restart the machine to see if the code clears (indicates the short is in the trailer wiring).

   Check for aftermarket accessories: Remove any operator-customized accessories (flood lights, hazard lights) spliced into the lighting circuits that could overload the system.

   Inspect the bulbs: Check the right turn signal light bulbs on the rear fenders/cab for melted or internally shorted filaments.

   Cycle the power: Restart the engine to verify if the active code reappears or clears by resetting communication messages.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and remove the key to ensure the VLC/CLC is not actively sending power to the circuit.

   Inspect the Trailer Socket

   Examine the 7-pin (or 13-pin) trailer socket at the rear of the chassis. Look for water intrusion, heavy corrosion, mud, or bent pins bridging the right turn signal pin (usually Pin 1 or Pin 4 depending on the regional standard, utilizing a Dark Green wire) to the ground pin. Clean or replace the socket if damaged.

   Inspect the Light Housings

   Remove the right-hand turn signal lenses on the machine. Inspect the bulb sockets for melted plastic, corrosion, or wires touching each other.

   Trace the Wiring Harness

   Trace the wiring harness from the rear right turn signal and trailer socket back to the VLC/CLC module. Look for pinch points, chafing against the chassis, or melted insulation that would cause the power wire to short directly to the frame (ground).

   Repair/Replace

   Splice and heat-shrink any chafed wiring. If the trailer socket or harness is heavily corroded or melted, replace it using the OEM parts listed.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery/power, turn the key on, and clear the codes via the CommandCenter display. Test the right turn signal to ensure the code does not return.
