John Deere 2791.13 – ECU: EGR Valve Out of Calibration

   Inspect the EGR valve and actuator for physical obstructions, carbon buildup, sticking, or mechanical wear that could prevent the valve from reaching its desired position. Clean the EGR valve stops.

   Ensure the sensors that feed position data back to the ECU and the actuator controlling the valve are functioning correctly and providing accurate data.

   Verify that there are no faults in the cable harness connecting the EGR actuator to the ECU.

   Calibrate the EGR System

   Connect a John Deere diagnostic tool (such as Service ADVISOR) and perform a recalibration (learn cycle) of the EGR system to realign the actuator's position with the ECU's expectations.

   Replace Faulty Components

   If the recalibration fails, or if the actuator/valve is found to be mechanically defective or permanently stuck, replace the EGR valve/actuator assembly.

   Reset and Re-test

   After cleaning or replacing the components, reset the ECU to clear the 002791.13 fault code. Conduct a comprehensive system test (running the engine to operating temperature) to ensure proper EGR function and verify the code does not return.
