2797.05

John Deere 2797.05 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Injector High Voltage Supply #1 Circuit Has High Resistance / Injection Valve Supply Voltage 1, Resistance Too High

Issue description

This error code indicates that the electrical resistance in the circuit to the first injection valve is too high, which suggests an open circuit or a poor connection. This fault can lead to inadequate fuel delivery, causing the ECU to reduce engine power or alter operational parameters to protect the engine from unstable running conditions.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect all wiring and connections leading to the #1 injection valve for breaks, disconnections, or frayed wires that could result in an open circuit.

  2. Use a multimeter to verify the resistance levels in the circuit and compare the readings against normal specified values to pinpoint the exact area of high resistance.

Repair steps

  1. Repair or Replace Damaged Components

Based on the multimeter readings, repair any breaks in the wiring harness or replace damaged connectors. If the wiring is intact but the internal resistance of the injector is out of specification, the injection valve itself must be replaced.

  2. Reset the ECU

After the physical repairs are completed, reset the Engine Control Unit to clear the stored 002797.05 fault code.

  3. Conduct Functional Tests

Perform a full system test and run the engine to confirm that the repair has resolved the issue and that fuel delivery is operating within normal parameters.
